Liverpool Complete Signing of Swedish Midfielder Alice Bergstrom From Hacken
The versatile player, who can operate as either a right-sided winger or full-back, scored three goals and provided eight assists during Hacken’s championship-winning campaign last season. Bergstrom featured in 25 of Hacken’s 26 top-flight matches as the Swedish club secured the Damallsvenskan title, establishing herself as a key contributor in their domestic success.
Bergstrom expressed her excitement about the move to Merseyside, telling the club’s official website that she has been anticipating the transfer for some time. “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time so it’s nice to be here,” the midfielder said. “I’m really excited to get started and it’s going to be a good year.”
The Sweden Under-23 international received her first call-up to the senior national squad for the Nations League bronze medal game against France in November, highlighting her rapid progression at international level. Bergstrom spent two seasons at Djurgardens before joining Hacken in 2024, where she developed into a championship-winning player under the Swedish club’s system.
Liverpool currently sit bottom of the Women’s Super League table and have yet to register a victory this season, having lost eight matches and drawn three so far in the campaign. The signing of Bergstrom represents the club’s efforts to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window, with the deal subject to international clearance and a work permit being granted.
