Multiple sources confirm Matteo Guendouzi is on the verge of completing a €25 million transfer from Lazio to Fenerbahce, with the France international midfielder set to depart for Turkey early next week after the Turkish club’s improved proposal convinced the Serie A side to sanction the January move.

Guendouzi’s €25 Million Fenerbahce Transfer From Lazio Set for Next Week

Sky Sport Italia, Sport Mediaset and Sportitalia all report that Fenerbahce’s enhanced bid of €25 million plus €2 million in add-ons has been accepted by Lazio, representing an increase from the original proposal worth €23 million plus €2 million in performance-related bonuses. The France international had already agreed personal terms with the Turkish club and was eager to make the move during the January transfer window.

Guendouzi is expected to make two final appearances in the Lazio jersey before completing his departure early next week. Manager Maurizio Sarri wants to retain the midfielder for upcoming fixtures against Fiorentina on Wednesday evening and Verona on Sunday, utilising the player during a crucial period in Serie A’s midweek round of matches.

The delayed departure will provide Lazio with additional time to secure a replacement for Guendouzi, with the club already operating with a short-staffed squad in midfield. Sarri’s side are keen to bring in reinforcements before allowing the French international to complete his move to the Turkish Super Lig, ensuring adequate cover for the remainder of the season.

Guendouzi’s transfer represents a significant investment by Fenerbahce as they look to strengthen their squad with European experience. The 25-year-old midfielder has been a key figure for Lazio this season, and his departure will require tactical adjustments from Sarri as the club continues their Serie A campaign without one of their established international players.
