Lazio are pursuing two midfield targets as Matteo Guendouzi moves closer to a January exit, with the Serie A club intensifying negotiations for Ajax’s Kenneth Taylor and Ferencvaros’ Alex Toth to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.

Lazio Advance Talks for Taylor and Toth as Guendouzi Exit Looms

The Biancocelesti have stepped up contacts with Hungarian club Ferencvaros for midfielder Alex Toth, according to transfer specialist Alfredo Pedulla. The Hungary international, born in 2005, has established himself at senior level after making his debut at 17 years old and has impressed in both domestic competition and European fixtures for the Budapest-based side.

Ferencvaros are demanding around 10 million euros for Toth and remain reluctant to sell their prized asset during the January window. However, Lazio are pushing to move ahead of significant competition from Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, all of whom have shown interest in securing the young midfielder’s services.

Simultaneously, Lazio are working on a separate deal for Kenneth Taylor, who is viewed as a more immediate replacement for the departing Guendouzi. Reports indicate that the Roman club are closing in on a 15 million euro agreement with Ajax for the Dutch midfielder, with talks ongoing as the Biancocelesti look to secure a player capable of fitting into Maurizio Sarri’s tactical system quickly.

Guendouzi’s expected departure is set to generate approximately 30 million euros in transfer funds for Lazio’s January recruitment drive. The club aim to finalise at least one midfield signing in the coming days, with Taylor considered a concrete and achievable option during the winter transfer window as they look to maintain their competitive edge in Serie A.
