Roma sporting director Frederic Massara is orchestrating linked transfer moves involving Giacomo Raspadori and Tommaso Baldanzi, with the club close to signing the former Atletico Madrid forward while preparing to sell their attacking midfielder to facilitate the incoming deal.

Roma Await Raspadori Decision as Baldanzi Departure Depends on Atletico Madrid Deal

The Giallorossi have reached agreements with both Atletico Madrid and Raspadori’s representatives for the forward’s transfer, but are currently waiting for the player’s final approval. Despite the deal being effectively closed on Roma’s end, Raspadori remains hesitant about leaving Spain having only recently moved to Atletico Madrid from his previous club.

Tommaso Baldanzi’s future is directly tied to Raspadori’s decision, with the 2003-born attacking midfielder set to choose his next destination once the incoming transfer receives the green light. Fiorentina currently leads the race for Baldanzi’s signature, though the player has attracted interest from multiple clubs seeking his services.

Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa represents another serious option for Baldanzi, with the former Roma coach having previously worked with the midfielder and maintaining a strong understanding of his capabilities. Both Fiorentina and Genoa have submitted acceptable terms to Roma for the transfer, leaving the final decision entirely in Baldanzi’s hands.

The interconnected nature of both deals means Roma’s transfer activity in the attacking positions remains on hold until Raspadori commits to the move from Madrid. Massara continues working to satisfy coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad requirements, with these linked transfers representing key elements in the club’s January transfer strategy.
