Stuttgart have confirmed a contract extension for attacking prospect Jovan Milosevic until 2029 before announcing the 20-year-old Serbian international’s loan move to Werder Bremen, with the Bundesliga club receiving a €650,000 loan fee while Bremen cover the striker’s full salary during his temporary spell.

Stuttgart Extend Milosevic Contract Before Confirming Werder Bremen Loan Move

The 20-year-old striker, who has already earned one senior cap for Serbia, signed new terms with Stuttgart on Sunday afternoon before the loan deal was officially announced. The contract extension runs until 2029, with Stuttgart’s commitment to the youngster meaning the loan arrangement contains no purchase option for Bremen to make the move permanent.

Bremen officials confirmed they view Milosevic as the direct replacement for Victor Boniface, whose loan spell from Bayer Leverkusen proved unsuccessful. Werder emphasised their belief that Milosevic can succeed where many other recent attack-focused loan signings have failed at the club.

According to Kicker, Bremen have accepted significant financial obligations as part of the agreement. The club will pay Stuttgart a €650,000 loan fee while covering Milosevic’s full salary stipulated in his new contract. Managing director Clemens Fritz acknowledged these financial commitments directly when addressing the signing.

Bremen personnel chief Peter Niemeyer expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, stating they are happy to have signed the young striker who developed well during his recent loan spell at Partizan Belgrade. Fritz added that significant opportunities entail certain risks, noting the club must have courage to take manageable financial risks, comparing the deal favourably to previous loan arrangements.

Stuttgart board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth praised Milosevic’s development trajectory, describing his season in Belgrade as particularly promising and demonstrating he is on the right track. Wohlgemuth confirmed Stuttgart will continue monitoring the striker’s performances closely while he takes his next developmental steps at Bremen.
