Liverpool fully expect Mohamed Salah to finish the season at Anfield despite recent explosive comments criticising the club and manager Arne Slot, according to The Athletic. The 33-year-old forward remains under contract until 2027 but his future on Merseyside has become uncertain following a public dispute with the club hierarchy last month.

Liverpool Confident Mohamed Salah Will Complete Season Despite Public Dispute

The Egypt international is currently representing his country at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he has scored four goals in four matches as Egypt prepare to face Senegal in Wednesday’s semi-final. Salah’s tournament form contrasts sharply with his domestic struggles this season, having netted just four goals in 14 Premier League appearances for Liverpool.

Salah’s relationship with the club deteriorated significantly last month when he accused Liverpool of “throwing him under the bus” during a stunning public interview. The forward also revealed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed, leading to his subsequent dropping from the first team following the explosive comments.

Despite the recent uncertainty surrounding the player’s situation, Liverpool remain confident that Salah will stay at Anfield until at least the summer transfer window. The club hopes his situation will settle down and that he will remain for the duration of his contract, which runs until 2027, though a summer exit remains possible if the issues cannot be resolved.

Saudi Arabian clubs are monitoring Salah’s situation closely and are prepared to make significant offers to bring the Egypt international to the Middle East. The forward has been an integral part of Liverpool since his arrival from Roma in 2017, helping the club win two Premier League titles and the Champions League during his successful spell on Merseyside.
