Conor Gallagher Completes £40 Million Move From Atletico Madrid to Tottenham
The 25-year-old midfielder joined Atletico Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2024 and made 77 appearances across all competitions during his time in Spanish football. Gallagher contributed seven goals and seven assists while wearing the red and white colours, establishing himself as a regular in Diego Simeone’s squad over the past 18 months.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper As and various sources, Tottenham have paid 40 million euros to secure Gallagher’s services. The deal had been in negotiation for several days before Atletico Madrid made the transfer official on Wednesday, with the London club successfully completing their pursuit of the former Chelsea academy graduate.
Gallagher’s return to the Premier League represents his desire to secure more consistent playing time and take on a prominent role within Tottenham’s midfield setup. The England international’s experience in Spanish football, combined with his previous Premier League knowledge, makes him an attractive addition for Spurs as they look to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.
