PSG Complete €6 Million Signing of Barcelona Teenager Dro Fernández

The teenage attacker becomes the latest Barcelona player to join PSG after the reigning UEFA Champions League winners activated the €6 million release clause in his contract. Fernández has signed a deal running until 2030 and will undergo a medical examination soon to complete the transfer from the Catalan club to the French capital.

Luis Enrique played a crucial role in convincing Fernández to make the move to PSG, with the Spanish manager’s knowledge of Barcelona proving instrumental in the negotiations. Sky Sport Germany reports that both Enrique and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi personally spoke with the young attacker to persuade him to join the club, highlighting their commitment to securing his signature.

The signing continues PSG’s recent trend of recruiting players from Barcelona, following high-profile transfers including Neymar Jr. and Ousmane Dembélé in recent years. With Luis Enrique at the helm, who knows Barcelona inside and out from his previous tenure at the club, pursuing talent from the Spanish side could become increasingly common for however long the former Spain manager remains on the PSG bench.
