Juventus will hold fresh talks with Crystal Palace on Jean-Philippe Mateta, Italian reports said, after their first offer for the 28-year-old striker was turned down. Tuttosport reported Mateta has already given approval for a move to Turin this month, though a deal still depends on agreements with Palace and the player’s representatives. Napoli are also linked.

Juventus directors are expected to continue negotiations with Crystal Palace on Jean-Philippe Mateta today, according to reports in Italy. The Bianconeri remain in pursuit of the 28-year-old French striker after their first offer was rejected on Sunday, and Tuttosport said the club hopes to find an agreement with the Premier League side through renewed talks.

Italian sources including Tuttosport and Gazzetta suggested Palace have set an asking price of €35 million, while English media reports claimed the request is even higher. Tuttosport reported Mateta has already given the green light to join Juventus at the Allianz Stadium this month, but Gazzetta added that Juventus must still reach agreements with both Mateta’s agent and Palace.

Napoli are also said to be interested in Mateta, though the reports noted the Partenopei would need to sell either Lorenzo Lucca or Noa Lang to bring in a new forward. The same reports linked both Juventus and Napoli to another attacking option in Youssef En-Nesyri.

En-Nesyri’s club, Fenerbahce, are willing to discuss a deal structured as an initial loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, according to the reports. With multiple clubs monitoring their striker targets and Palace holding firm on Mateta’s valuation, negotiations are expected to continue as Juventus look to keep the move alive.
