Birmingham land Brighton’s Ibrahim Osman on loan for rest of season

Birmingham City have signed Brighton and Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman on loan until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Ghanaian is yet to make an appearance for Brighton, but arrives with recent top-flight experience after a spell in France earlier in the campaign.

Osman spent the first half of this season on loan with Auxerre, making 14 appearances in Ligue 1. Birmingham said he becomes the Championship club’s third signing of the January transfer window, after the arrivals of Kai Wagner and Jhon Solis.

Osman began his career in Ghana before moving to Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2023. He scored 10 goals and made nine assists in 44 games in a breakthrough 2023-24 season, form that earned him a £16m move to Premier League side Brighton in the summer of 2024.

Brighton then loaned Osman to Feyenoord for the 2024-25 season. He had six goal involvements in 22 Eredivisie games and made seven Champions League appearances with the Dutch side, according to the report.

Birmingham are currently 14th in the Championship table with 35 points. Osman joins as the club continues its January business, with Wagner and Solis already added to the squad during the window.
