Rangers have been instructed by an SPFL tribunal to pay Dundee around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron after the clubs could not agree a compensation package. Cameron signed a pre-contract with Rangers in February and completed his move to Ibrox in the summer. Dundee said the proceedings have ended but declined further comment due to a confidentiality clause.

SPFL tribunal orders Rangers to pay Dundee about £400,000 for Cameron

An SPFL tribunal has told Rangers to pay Dundee a fee of around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron. The decision follows a dispute between the clubs over compensation after Cameron moved from Dens Park to Ibrox, with the case referred to the league after agreement could not be reached.

Cameron, 23, is a Dens Park academy graduate who agreed a pre-contract with Rangers last February before completing his switch in the summer. With talks between the clubs failing to settle on a compensation package, the matter was brought before the SPFL for a ruling.

The midfielder has made 10 appearances for Rangers. He joined Aberdeen on loan last week for the remainder of the season, shortly before the tribunal issued its decision on the amount due to Dundee.

Dundee confirmed in a statement that the tribunal proceedings have concluded. The club said it was unable to comment further because of the tribunal’s confidentiality clause, while Rangers have 14 days from Tuesday’s decision to pay the fee.
