Aston Villa are targeting a move to re-sign Tammy Abraham as they look to maintain their Premier League title challenge, with the striker currently on loan at Besiktas from AS Roma earning £115,000 per week and facing a potential permanent £11.2 million transfer.

Aston Villa Eye Tammy Abraham Return to Support Premier League Title Push

Abraham previously spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa Park, where he scored 26 goals in 40 appearances to help secure the club’s promotion to the Premier League. The English striker’s potential return would provide attacking reinforcement as Villa sit six points behind leaders Arsenal despite suffering a recent 4-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

However, any deal would prove complicated due to Abraham’s current situation at Besiktas, where his loan from Roma includes a clause for a permanent £11.2 million transfer if certain conditions are met. The striker’s substantial weekly wages of £115,000 could also present a financial obstacle for Villa as they weigh up their transfer options during the January window.

Man City set to meet Chelsea's £120m Fernandez valuation

Villa have collected 43 points from their opening 21 Premier League fixtures, with manager Unai Emery seeking additional support for Ollie Watkins in attack. Watkins has scored seven goals in 28 matches across all competitions this season and has started all but three of Villa’s Premier League games, prompting Emery to explore reinforcement options.

Abraham has demonstrated his continued quality during his time in Turkey, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances for Besiktas this season. The 27-year-old striker is highly rated for his physical presence, movement in the penalty area and clinical finishing ability, attributes that could prove valuable as Villa pursue their unexpected title challenge.

The potential signing would signal Villa’s serious intent to challenge Arsenal in the title race, with the club looking to capitalise on their strong start to the campaign. Abraham’s familiarity with Villa Park and his proven goalscoring record during his previous loan spell make him an attractive target as Emery seeks to add depth to his attacking options.
