Barcelona are closing in on four more additions before the winter transfer window shuts, after already bringing in Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal. Al Ahly executive Walid Salah El-Din confirmed 18-year-old forward Hamza Abdelkarim is heading to Barcelona. The club is also reported to be close to deals for Ajay Tavares, Patricio Pacifico and Juwensley Onstein.

Barcelona near four more arrivals, with Abdelkarim move confirmed by Al Ahly

Barcelona’s recent transfer activity is set to continue in the coming days, with four players poised to arrive in Catalonia before the winter window closes. Joao Cancelo has already joined the club from Al Hilal. The next arrival is expected to be Hamza Abdelkarim after reports earlier in the week said Barcelona had agreed a deal with Al Ahly for the 18-year-old forward.

Al Ahly sporting executive Walid Salah El-Din confirmed the move, telling MD: “Yes, Hamza Abdelkarim is going to Barcelona. I wish him much success so that he can continue his career there and consolidate with Barça and not return to Egypt.” The report indicated Abdelkarim is one of the four players Barcelona expect to bring in shortly.

Three more youth signings are also described as close. Fabrizio Romano reported that Barcelona are nearing deals for Ajay Tavares, Patricio Pacifico and Juwensley Onstein. Pacifico, a 19-year-old defender, is reported to have an agreement in place with Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting, with the deal structured as a loan that includes an option for Barcelona to buy.

Onstein is expected to complete the quartet. Matteo Moretto reported Barcelona are close to an agreement with Genk for the Netherlands youth international, who would arrive as a replacement for Andres Cuenca. Cuenca is described as almost certain to join Como before the winter transfer window comes to a close.

All four players would initially be placed in Barcelona’s youth categories. The report noted, however, that Hansi Flick has been prepared to use La Masia when necessary, leaving open the possibility that the newcomers could get chances to step up to the first team in the years ahead.
