Inter Milan Target Croatian Defender Mlacic

Inter Milan are working on outgoing midfield deals as they close in on Croatian defender Branimir Mlacic, with the Nerazzurri planning to refresh their squad ahead of next season and setting aside a budget of around €5 million for the 2007-born talent.

Inter Milan Close In On Croatian Starlet Mlacic While Planning Frattesi And Asllani Exits

Mlacic has become an increasingly concrete target for Inter as they look to rejuvenate the defence, with the club reportedly accelerating their efforts to wrap up the deal for the Hajduk Split defender. The Nerazzurri have excellent relations with the Croatian club and view the potential signing as an investment for the future rather than an immediate reinforcement. However, the player could well stay in Croatia on loan until the end of the season following any potential transfer.

At the same time, exits are being explored in midfield as Inter look to balance their squad. Davide Frattesi is still waiting for developments after intense contacts with Galatasaray in recent weeks, with Inter open to a sale should a suitable offer arrive for the Italian midfielder. The club are actively considering his departure as part of their summer planning.

Man City set to meet Chelsea's £120m Fernandez valuation

Kristjan Asllani is also under evaluation after returning from an underwhelming loan spell at Torino during the first half of the season. Girona have recently asked for information about the Albania international, raising the possibility that he could finally open up to a move abroad rather than remaining in Serie A for another temporary spell.

The potential departures of both Frattesi and Asllani would provide Inter with additional funds and squad space as they continue their pursuit of Mlacic. The Croatian defender represents the type of young talent Inter are targeting as they plan for long-term success, with the modest €5 million fee reflecting their strategy of investing in promising prospects rather than established stars.
