Klopp shifts focus to Man Utd vs Arsenal after Liverpool setback

This Sunday, Liverpool faced a setback as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford. Despite the draw, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains focused on the bigger picture, warning Manchester United ahead of their upcoming clash with Arsenal.

In a post-match press conference, Klopp expressed his concerns about United’s performance against his team and cautioned them about facing Arsenal. He stated, “United will be destroyed by Arsenal if they replicate their performance at Old Trafford against the Gunners.” Klopp’s words come as a reminder to United that they need to up their game if they aim to stand a chance against a formidable opponent like Arsenal.

The match at Old Trafford saw Liverpool take an early lead through Luis Diaz’s goal, only to be pegged back by Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo’s spectacular goals for Manchester United. A late penalty converted by Mohamed Salah salvaged a point for Liverpool, but it was not enough to propel them to the top of the Premier League table.

Currently sitting in second place, level on points with leaders Arsenal but trailing on goal difference, Klopp’s side is facing intense competition from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. With only seven matches remaining in the season, every point and performance matters as the race for the title heats up.

Looking ahead, Klopp acknowledged the pivotal role that Manchester United could play in the title race when they face Arsenal later in May. Despite facing United three times this season without a victory, Klopp understands the threat they pose to other title contenders.

When asked if he would be rooting for United against Arsenal, Klopp humorously replied, “Probably, If we are still around then that would be great. But Arsenal are a good football team. If they [United] play like today, Arsenal will win the game, I am 100% sure. I am sorry to say that.”

With the tense battle at the top of the Premier League table, Klopp’s focus is now on the upcoming clash between Manchester United and Arsenal. As Liverpool regroup and prepare for their next challenge, Klopp will be closely monitoring how United perform against Arsenal, knowing that the outcome could have significant implications for the title race.
