Inter Milan are reshaping their summer transfer plans for the right flank, with Atletico Madrid wing-back Nahuel Molina now ahead of Atalanta’s Marco Palestra as the club reassesses their priorities ahead of the 2026 transfer window.

Nahuel Molina Climbs Above Marco Palestra On Inter Milan’s Summer Transfer Wishlist

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Atalanta could demand around €40 million for Palestra, a valuation that is causing hesitation at Viale della Liberazione. The figure mirrors the prices quoted in the past for Ederson and Lookman and is seen as excessive for a player who could ultimately be Premier League-bound, prompting Inter to consider alternative options for strengthening their right flank.

The situation could push Inter to pivot towards other targets, especially if Denzel Dumfries attracts a club willing to activate his €25 million release clause during the summer window. In that scenario, Inter would need a ready-made solution rather than a costly development project, making established players like Molina more attractive propositions for the Nerazzurri hierarchy.

Molina has therefore climbed to the top of the list for the summer of 2026, with the Argentine viewed as a more established profile and a safer investment capable of offering immediate guarantees in a key role. The Atletico Madrid defender represents a different approach compared to Palestra, offering proven experience at the highest level rather than potential for future development.

Palestra remains appreciated and continues to be monitored by Inter’s scouting network, but the club are reluctant to commit such a large sum under the current conditions. The Serie A starlet’s valuation has proven problematic for Inter’s transfer strategy, despite his impressive performances in Italian football this season.

In the meantime, January stop-gap solutions are not ruled out as Inter assess their immediate needs. Fiorentina’s Dodò is liked but would require a significant offer, while Bologna’s Emil Holm has also re-entered the discussion as a potential short-term addition to provide cover and competition on the right flank before the summer overhaul.
