West Ham have appointed Scott Parker as head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked on November 3. The 46-year-old, a three-time Championship promotion winner, takes charge of a side eighth in the table and six points behind leaders Middlesbrough. According to Skysports.com.
Parker’s promotion record gives West Ham a Championship specialist
Parker’s credentials rest on the Sky Bet Championship, where he has won promotion three times: with Fulham in 2019/20, Bournemouth in 2021/22 and Burnley in 2024/25. He had been out of work since April, after leaving Burnley by mutual consent, and now joins West Ham on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The brief is immediate. Parker’s first match in charge is Wednesday night’s game at Cardiff City, with West Ham eighth and six points behind leaders Middlesbrough. Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked after just over 13 months in charge, leaving Parker to pick up a season already under way.
The listed run of fixtures begins away at Cardiff on November 4 and Blackburn on November 7. Preston visit on November 21, and West Ham then travel to Portsmouth on November 24, host Stoke City on November 28, go to Sheffield Utd on December 4 and host Middlesbrough on December 8.
It is also a homecoming. Parker left West Ham as a player in August 2011, 15 years before this appointment, having made 129 appearances and scored 12 goals. The former England international recalls “four years of probably the best football I played in my career” at the club.
First-team coaches Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville and Billy Lepine will assist Parker, and the club say Mark Noble, his former team-mate, will work closely with him. Parker said: “I feel privileged and honoured to be the guy that wants to lead us back to the Premier League.”
