AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that Christian Pulisic is a doubt for Monday evening’s Serie A fixture away against Torino after the American winger developed a fever, with the coach stating he will not travel with the squad if there is a risk of infecting other players.

Allegri Confirms Pulisic Fever Concern Ahead of Crucial Torino Away Fixture

The USMNT star experienced a fever on Saturday night, leaving his availability for the 19.45 GMT kick-off at Torino uncertain. Allegri addressed the situation during his pre-match press conference on Sunday, emphasising the need to protect the rest of the squad from potential illness during a crucial period of the season.

Pulisic’s potential absence would be another blow for Milan after missing last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Lazio due to a muscular issue. The 26-year-old did manage to come off the bench during Thursday night’s Coppa Italia encounter against the same opponents, suggesting his previous injury concerns had been resolved before this latest setback emerged.

Allegri confirmed that Santiago Gimenez and Youssouf Fofana remain unavailable for the Torino clash, with the manager hoping to have Fofana back for the subsequent fixture against Sassuolo. The coach described the upcoming week as “very important” for Milan’s campaign, with the team having an opportunity to return to the top of the Serie A table with victory on Monday evening.

The potential loss of Pulisic would deprive Milan of one of their leading scorers this season, with the American having netted five Serie A goals alongside Rafael Leao. Remarkably, the pair have only started together once this campaign during the 1-0 Derby della Madonnina victory over Inter at the end of November, highlighting the injury disruption that has affected Milan’s attacking options throughout the season.
