Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is not planning to seek a move away from the club this month despite recent reports suggesting he was considering his future following Ruben Amorim’s dismissal as head coach and subsequent managerial upheaval at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes Commits to Manchester United Stay Despite Managerial Changes

Reports emerged in recent days suggesting Fernandes was considering his future at Old Trafford following the dismissal of head coach Ruben Amorim. The speculation intensified when Fernandes met one of Amorim’s coaches, Carlos Fernandes, in the wake of Amorim’s sacking, heightening fears among some supporters that the 31-year-old midfielder might be looking for an exit route from the club.

However, sources with an understanding of the situation confirm that despite the upheaval at Manchester United, Fernandes remains committed to the club. The managerial changes led to Darren Fletcher being made interim boss for two games before Michael Carrick took over as caretaker manager for the rest of the season, but the Portuguese international has not been deterred by the instability.

Fernandes had always planned to reassess his situation in the summer when he will have one year remaining on his contract with Manchester United. The former Sporting player turned down a huge offer from Al-Hilal last summer despite continued interest from the Saudi Pro League, and sources indicate he would look to stay in Europe if he did eventually leave United.

The midfielder recently admitted he was hurt by the knowledge that United were willing to sell him and said he felt senior officials lacked the courage to tell him directly. Fernandes revealed that Amorim’s preference was for him to stay at the club, which influenced the situation during the previous transfer discussions with potential suitors.

Fernandes has scored five goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League so far this season, maintaining his status as one of United’s key performers despite the club’s ongoing struggles and managerial uncertainty throughout the campaign.
