William Saliba Commits Long-Term Future to Arsenal with Contract Extension Until 2030

William Saliba has officially committed his long-term future to Arsenal by signing a new contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2030. The French defender’s extension, confirmed by Arsenal on September 30, 2025, adds three years to his existing deal that was due to expire in 2027, effectively ending speculation about his future amid reported interest from Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old centre-back has become an indispensable figure in Mikel Arteta’s defensive setup, featuring in nearly all Premier League games in recent campaigns despite suffering an ankle injury in August 2025. Saliba has made six appearances in eight games this season and expressed his contentment with life in North London, describing feeling “at home” at Arsenal while highlighting the strong squad, staff, and coaching setup as key factors in his decision to extend his stay.

Manager Mikel Arteta praised Saliba’s character and growing influence at the club in Arsenal’s official announcement, emphasizing the defender’s integral role in the team’s ambitions to win major trophies. The contract extension represents a significant investment in Arsenal’s defensive future, with Saliba already established as the club’s best-paid defender before this new deal, though specific financial terms remain undisclosed.

Since making his competitive Arsenal debut in the 2022/23 season following loan spells at Saint-Étienne, Nice, and Marseille, Saliba has accumulated 140 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and forming a formidable partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of Arsenal’s defence. Sporting director Andrea Berta welcomed the defender’s commitment, emphasizing his importance to Arsenal’s ongoing project and long-term strategic planning.

The contract extension provides Arsenal with defensive stability as they continue building a competitive squad under Arteta’s guidance, while also demonstrating their ability to retain key players against interest from Europe’s elite clubs. With Saliba’s future secured until 2030, Arsenal can now focus on extending contracts for other crucial squad members, including academy graduates and established stars, as they pursue their ambitions for domestic and European success.
