Benjamin Sesko’s spectacular late equaliser against West Ham has earned him strong backing from interim manager Michael Carrick, who believes the striker is now ready to establish himself as a key player for Manchester United. According to Football365.com.

Carrick hails Sesko’s match-saving heroics as sign of striker’s potential

Sesko rescued a crucial point for Manchester United with an incredible flick finish in the 96th minute against West Ham, preserving their unbeaten run when defeat looked certain. Interim boss Michael Carrick was effusive in his praise for the summer signing’s technique and composure under pressure.

The Premier League clash saw United struggle against an in-form Hammers side before Sesko’s intervention from the bench. Carrick described the finish as “unbelievable from the angle to generate that, to get it on target, to finish it, it’s some goal from him.”

Despite starting from the bench for 10 of his 21 league appearances this season, Carrick suggested the Slovenian striker has consistently demonstrated this quality in training. The manager emphasized that such moments weren’t surprising, stating “he’s done it all the time, it’s not that he’s just suddenly burst on the scene.”

When pressed about whether the goal had earned Sesko a starting position, Carrick remained diplomatic but offered encouragement about the player’s development. He confirmed the striker was “in a good place, he’s ready to kick on” while acknowledging the challenge of squad rotation.

Sesko himself expressed mixed emotions about the dramatic rescue, admitting satisfaction with his finish but disappointment at dropping points. The striker suggested United’s intensity levels may have contributed to their failure to secure victory in what he felt should have been a winning performance.
