Fulham have turned down an Everton approach for Harry Wilson despite the Wales midfielder’s contract expiring this summer. The Cottagers are prioritising securing Wilson’s long-term future while blocking any January departure. According to Bbc.com.

Wilson’s contract uncertainty leaves Fulham in precarious position

Everton’s rejected bid for Harry Wilson highlights the delicate situation surrounding the 28-year-old midfielder’s future at Craven Cottage. The Toffees made their approach last week, but Fulham remain determined to retain their key player despite his contract expiring in June.

Head coach Marco Silva has publicly stated there is “zero chance” of Wilson departing during the January transfer window. However, contract extension negotiations have stalled due to ongoing transfer interest from multiple clubs, creating uncertainty around the Wales international’s long-term commitment.

Wilson’s hesitation over signing a new deal stems from wanting clarity on Silva’s own future, with the Portuguese manager also out of contract this summer. The midfielder reportedly prefers to understand the club’s managerial direction before making any final decision on extending his stay at Fulham.

Since joining on loan from Liverpool in July 2021, Wilson has become integral to Fulham’s success with 173 appearances, scoring 34 goals and providing 43 assists. This season alone, he has found the net eight times in 23 Premier League appearances, underlining his importance to Silva’s tactical setup.

The club’s refusal to sell Wilson this month demonstrates their commitment to securing his signature, despite the risk of losing him for nothing in the summer. Fulham’s priority remains convincing both Wilson and Silva to commit their futures to the west London outfit.
