Liverpool will only sanction Federico Chiesa’s departure from Anfield in exchange for a substantial transfer fee, despite the Italian winger’s limited involvement under manager Arne Slot this season, with Juventus exploring a potential loan deal with obligation to buy.

Liverpool Demand Big-Money Fee for Federico Chiesa Exit Amid Juventus Interest

Juventus are the most interested party in securing Chiesa’s services, with the Serie A giants looking to agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the future. However, the obligation would only become active if certain conditions are met during the loan period. Sky Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that the Old Lady are keen to re-sign their former player but face Liverpool’s firm stance on transfer terms.

Despite Chiesa’s lack of regular involvement in Liverpool’s outings this season, manager Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes will not change their conditions for any potential departure. The club would only consider a permanent exit for a well-paid transfer, maintaining their valuation of the Italian international even though he has not been used regularly in the first team setup.

Chiesa has often changed the game for Liverpool when given opportunities, but Slot has favoured other attacking options such as Cody Gakpo throughout the campaign. The Italian has quickly become a cult hero among supporters despite limited appearances, with his song becoming one of the fans’ favourites since his arrival at Anfield.

Liverpool’s attacking struggles were highlighted in Thursday’s goalless draw against Arsenal, where the Reds failed to register a single shot on target. With key players including Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike absent from the squad due to injuries, Chiesa could have provided the creative spark needed to break down Arsenal’s defensive structure.

The timing of any potential Chiesa departure appears questionable given Liverpool’s current injury crisis in attack. Despite over £250 million being spent on improving the forward line and replacing players such as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, the club’s attacking output has been disappointing this season, suggesting Chiesa’s retention might prove more valuable than any transfer fee.
