Liverpool vice-captain Andy Robertson has admitted his future at Anfield remains unresolved with his contract expiring in five months, expressing frustration over limited playing time this season after losing his regular starting position to summer signing Milos Kerkez.

Andy Robertson Admits Liverpool Future Uncertain as Contract Talks Continue

Robertson confirmed Liverpool have held discussions over extending his Anfield career but revealed no firm offer has been presented, leaving his next step uncertain beyond competing in Scotland’s first World Cup for 28 years. The left-back, who turns 32 in March, turned down Atletico Madrid last summer and is likely to have several options should he become a free agent.

The Scotland captain has started just four Premier League games compared to Kerkez’s 17 this season, though he has made 11 starts across all competitions. Robertson indicated his desire for regular playing time would influence his decision, stating he has played through injuries at various fitness levels for club and country throughout his Liverpool career.

Robertson emphasized his commitment to the club over eight and a half years, reminding people of his £8 million transfer fee from Hull City in 2017 and subsequent achievements. He insisted his relationship with Liverpool’s hierarchy remains excellent, with both parties showing mutual respect throughout his tenure at Anfield.

The defender acknowledged having a different role this season but maintained that footballers want to play, suggesting anyone happy sitting on the bench lacks the right attitude. Robertson confirmed he and his family will make a decision about his future, with private contract talks ongoing and various options being considered over the remaining five months of his current deal.
