Rangers secure Ryan Naderi in upgraded £4.7m Deadline Day deal
The Ibrox club had initially agreed a £3m move to land the 22-year-old striker in the summer. However, following further talks with Hansa Rostock, a move was agreed despite the German third division club wanting to keep the player until the end of this season.
Naderi becomes head coach Danny Röhl’s fourth January arrival, following deals for winger Andreas Skov Olsen on loan, plus permanent moves for midfielder Tochi Chukuwani and left-back Tuur Rommens. The striker began his senior career with his hometown club Dresden before moving to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2021.
“I am really pleased that this move has happened,” Naderi said after signing a long-term deal at Ibrox. “Rangers are a world-renowned club who have a history of winning silverware and that’s what I am here to achieve.”
Manager Röhl expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting the player’s potential for development. “He is still young in terms of his playing career, but he has shown in Germany that he knows the way to goal as well as contributing with a number of assists due to his high level of skill,” Röhl added.
The German coach believes Rangers can help elevate Naderi’s performance to new heights. “He is someone who has a lot of potential and I believe we can help take his game to the next level,” Röhl concluded about his new striker’s prospects at the club.
