Vitor Pereira has been appointed Nottingham Forest manager until the end of next season, becoming the club’s fourth boss this campaign. The Portuguese coach replaces Sean Dyche as Forest sit just three points above relegation with two wins from their last ten matches. According to Bbc.com.

Pereira Returns to Premier League as Forest’s Fourth Manager This Season

The 57-year-old Portuguese manager takes charge at the City Ground following Dyche’s dismissal on Thursday morning after a disappointing goalless draw with bottom club Wolves. Pereira’s previous connection with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos proved crucial in his swift appointment to the role.

Forest’s managerial instability has been remarkable this season, with Pereira following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche since September. Nuno was sacked just three games into the campaign despite finishing seventh last season, while Postecoglou lasted only 39 days without winning any of his eight league matches.

Pereira brings recent Premier League experience after being axed by Wolves in November following 11 months in charge. He won 14 of his 38 games at Molineux and helped them avoid relegation last season, though he was dismissed with Wolves on just two points from their first ten matches this campaign.

The appointment comes as Forest struggle in 17th position, three points above the drop zone after their recent poor form. Dyche initially brought stability with seven wins from his opening twelve games, but the club’s failure to pull away from danger ultimately cost him his position at the City Ground.

Pereira’s first assignment will be the Europa League knockout round play-off first leg against his former club Fenerbahce in Turkey on Thursday. He then faces an immediate test when Forest host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, 22 February, as he begins his 15th managerial role.
