Barcelona agree Rashford installment plan as FFP compliance becomes final hurdle

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that everything is agreed between the clubs regarding Rashford’s transfer structure. The payment method involves three annual installments of €10 million each, allowing Barcelona to spread the €30 million cost over multiple years rather than paying the full amount upfront.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto revealed on X that Barcelona is very close to signing Rashford permanently. He emphasized that the England international has always been a priority for both manager Flick and the club throughout recent months of speculation.

The final approval from Barcelona’s sporting management now depends entirely on adapting the deal to La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations. The club must consider the economic impact of Rashford’s signing, including his salary demands and contract length of three to four years given his age.

Rashford has impressed during his loan spell at Camp Nou, contributing ten goals and nine assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. The report confirms he is happy at Barcelona, where he believes he still has room to grow and recover his exceptional level.

Manchester United previously refused to offer any discount on the buyout clause despite Barcelona’s attempts to negotiate the fee downward. Fabrizio Romano earlier confirmed United’s stance that they want the full €30 million option clause paid without any reduction in price.
