Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento Krepski has reportedly agreed a loan move to Serie A side Genoa with a buy option clause worth €9 million, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo’s team after losing his starting position under coach Jorge Jesus to Nawaf Al-Aqidi this season.

Al Nassr Goalkeeper Bento Krepski Set for Genoa Loan Move With €9 Million Buy Option

The Brazilian goalkeeper emerged as a key figure in 2024 after joining Al Nassr from Athletico Paranaense for €18 million and initially secured the starting position. However, the arrival of Jorge Jesus changed his trajectory at the Saudi Pro League club, with Nawaf Al-Aqidi replacing him as the first-choice goalkeeper under the Portuguese coach.

Seeking a place in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad, Bento decided to leave the team and was ruled out of Sunday’s match against Al Hilal. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old will move to Genoa on a loan deal that includes the €9 million buy option clause for the Serie A club to make the transfer permanent.

With Bento’s reported departure, coach Jorge Jesus will be forced to trust Nawaf Al-Aqeedi and young goalkeeper Mubarak Ahmed to cover the position for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, with no new arrivals expected in January 2026. The Brazilian played just one game in the current Saudi Pro League campaign after being relegated to a secondary role.

Al Nassr could also lose another player in the coming weeks, with Wesley Gassova reportedly set to leave the team according to Romano. The departure of Bento Krepski is considered key to making certain moves and unlocking the limitations imposed by financial spending regulations, which could allow the club to strengthen other areas of the squad.

According to Falah Sport, Al Nassr have already set their sights on strengthening two specific positions following Bento’s exit, with Al Hilal’s center forward Al-Hamdan and a midfielder identified as the team’s priorities in the coming weeks. The moves would provide Jorge Jesus with greater squad depth to compete for the Saudi Pro League title and secure qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite.
