Arsenal have set their sights on Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento with a £60 million valuation reportedly discussed, while the Gunners confirmed midfielder Louie Copley has joined Crawley Town on loan after signing a new contract and made enquiries for Borussia Dortmund prospect Romeo Ritter.
Arsenal Target Newcastle’s Livramento as £60 Million January Deal Considered
The Gunners are pursuing Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento according to reports, with a £60 million valuation supposedly discussed last summer. The England international has two years remaining on his St James’ Park contract and has recently returned from injury, making him an attractive target for Mikel Arteta’s side as they maintain their six-point lead at the Premier League summit.
Arsenal face competition from Manchester City for Livramento’s signature, with both clubs hoping Newcastle will be open to negotiations. No contract discussions between the player and Newcastle have been made public, with Livramento revealing in November that talks over a fresh deal had not commenced. The 22-year-old stated that contract matters were being handled by his father and agent while he focused on helping the team following his return from a seven-week injury layoff.
Arsenal have confirmed the loan departure of promising midfielder Louie Copley to League Two side Crawley Town following the completion of a new contract with the Gunners. The 19-year-old is embarking on his first venture into senior football after being an unused substitute in Arsenal’s Champions League victory over Club Brugge in December, having featured in 14 academy matches this season.
The north London club have also established contact regarding Borussia Dortmund prospect Romeo Ritter according to Sky Germany reports. The 17-year-old left-footed centre-back has attracted interest from several European clubs including AC Milan, despite being contracted to Dortmund until 2028. Ritter has made two appearances for Dortmund’s reserve side and been a consistent presence at under-17 and under-19 levels.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta continues to seek improvements despite his team’s strong position, stating after their recent draw with Liverpool that the squad wants to “continue to improve and learn” with every game providing an opportunity for development. The Gunners maintain their Premier League lead over Manchester City following the stalemate against the reigning champions at the Emirates Stadium.
