Bayern Munich Set to Show Diaz This Thursday Following Liverpool Exit

Bayern Munich plans to reveal Colombian winger Luis Díaz this Thursday, following his substantial €75 million transfer from Liverpool. This move, including performance-related add-ons, marks a strategic addition to Bayern’s attacking lineup. Díaz, who scored 13 goals in the previous Premier League season, joins Bayern aiming to reinforce their competitiveness in European football. His contract extends to June 2029, highlighting the club’s commitment to long-term success. More details surrounding his debut and potential impact will follow.

Bayern Munich has completed a significant transfer that sends Colombian winger Luis Díaz from Liverpool to the Bavarian club for a reported fee of €75 million (£65.6 million), which includes various performance-related add-ons. This announcement follows a rejected bid of €67.5 million, underscoring the pressing need for both clubs to solidify their attacking lineups ahead of the new season.

Díaz, aged 27, showcased his prowess during Liverpool’s title-winning 2024–25 campaign, scoring 13 goals in the Premier League. His versatility and pace make him an ideal fit for Bayern’s tactical requirements; he can operate effectively across various attacking positions.

Recognizing his potential, Bayern secured a contract lasting until June 2029, indicating their intent to integrate him as a key player in the upcoming seasons.

The completion of this transfer is particularly timely, as it is set to finalize within 24 hours from the agreement announcement around July 27–28, 2025. Díaz has already been permitted to travel from Liverpool’s preseason tour in Tokyo to undertake his medical and finalize formalities with Bayern Munich.

The urgency of this deal reflects Bayern’s aggressive approach to squad rebuilding after missing multiple target signings this summer.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is restructuring its attack, having already signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for €95 million, which points to their strategy of compensating for Díaz’s departure.

The acceptance of Díaz’s desire to leave played a critical role in facilitating the transfer, enabling Liverpool to reinforce its squad while promoting attacking depth for the new season.

As a high-stakes summer transfer unfolds, both clubs are aiming to strengthen their respective positions in European football.
