Holm targeting permanent Juventus switch after January loan move
Holm completed his move to Turin on the final day of the January transfer window, signing an initial loan deal that includes an option to buy for €15m plus €3m in bonuses. The Swedish international has made no secret of his ambitions to extend his stay beyond the 2025-26 season, having previously represented Spezia, Atalanta and Bologna in Italy’s top flight.
The defender credits his integration success to the support received from teammates and coaching staff since arriving from Bologna. “All my teammates, the coach and the staff have helped me to feel part of the group. My goal is to be here beyond the summer,” Holm told Sky Sport in a recent interview.
Holm revealed details of his initial conversation with head coach Luciano Spalletti, highlighting an unexpected personal connection that helped break the ice. “He told me that his wife is from La Spezia, so she watched a lot of games when I was there. We haven’t spoken much, but it’s gone well so far,” the Swedish international explained.
The versatile defender outlined his preferred tactical roles and expressed admiration for teammate Kenan Yildiz after training alongside the young star. “He’s really strong in my opinion. I played against him in training and you can immediately see that he has this impressive quality,” Holm observed about the highly-rated forward.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Derby d’Italia against Inter, Holm emphasized the significance of the fixture for Juventus‘ season trajectory. “If we win, we’ll make up a bit of ground in the standings. It’s a long season, though. If we win it, it’s a great opportunity of course,” he concluded.
