Inter are set to turn Manuel Akanji’s loan move into a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign, having made a final decision on the Swiss defender’s future. His performances have convinced the Nerazzurri hierarchy, who view him as part of their longer-term defensive plans. According to Fabrizio Romano, via FCInter1908, Inter are fully intent on activating the buy clause written into the loan agreement with City. The option to purchase is set at €15 million and is due to be exercised in June once the current campaign comes to a close, with Inter treating the next steps as a formality.

The report added there are no doubts inside the club about completing the deal, describing it as straightforward and already decided. Akanji is expected to stay in Milan beyond the summer, turning his loan spell into a permanent move without complications, as Inter secure what the report called solid business at a controlled cost.
