Inter Milan are continuing to monitor Hajduk Split defender Branimir Mlacic with significant interest, having prepared a €5.5 million offer for the 18-year-old centre-back. The Nerazzurri would ideally complete a summer transfer but remain open to January negotiations if the right opportunity emerges.

Inter Milan Prepare €5.5 Million Offer for Hajduk Split Teenager Branimir Mlacic

The Serie A club have drawn up the financial package to test Hajduk Split’s resolve over their highly-rated teenage defender, who has attracted attention from numerous European giants including Barcelona and Real Madrid. Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille were among the first clubs to take note of Mlacic’s development at Poljud, with the Nerazzurri maintaining regular contact with the player’s representatives.

Despite reaching out to Mlacic’s agent, Inter have not yet opened formal negotiations with Hajduk Split regarding a potential winter transfer window move. The Italian club are prepared to allow the defender to remain in Split on loan until the end of the current season to continue his development, should they complete the signing in January.

Negotiations between the two clubs have never progressed beyond preliminary discussions, with Inter’s preference being to secure Mlacic’s signature during the summer transfer window. The 18-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s most coveted young centre-backs through his performances in the Croatian top flight.

Inter would only accelerate their pursuit of the Hajduk Split prodigy during the current January transfer window if a clear opportunity presents itself. The club’s sporting hierarchy view the summer as the ideal time to complete the transfer, allowing for more thorough planning and integration into their defensive setup for the following campaign.
