Liverpool Step Up Interest in Leipzig Winger Yan Diomande Amid €100m Stance
RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has emerged as one of the winter transfer window’s most sought-after players, with multiple elite clubs tracking the 19-year-old. Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all been alerted by his early impact in Germany, according to the report. Leipzig have made their message clear to suitors: negotiations will only begin at €100 million.
Liverpool’s pursuit is described as the most advanced at this stage. Sources close to the agents industry told CaughtOffside that the Merseyside club are expected to make a formal approach in the coming months. Liverpool see Diomande as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah and believe he fits their new system, while the player has already admitted he wants to play at Anfield and considers himself a big fan of the club.
Leipzig’s asking price is underpinned by the club’s belief that Diomande can develop into one of the game’s elite attackers. He has scored seven goals and registered four assists in all competitions this season. The report adds that his contract situation, age, versatility and perceived ceiling have combined to make him one of the most valuable young players in Europe.
Arsenal are said to have tracked Diomande since 2024 and view him as a possible heir to Gabriel Martinelli, though they are cautious about committing to a nine-figure bidding battle. PSG have already scouted him multiple times this season, while Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring the situation but are either focused elsewhere or not ready to make such a significant financial commitment.
Bayern Munich are also expected to join the race. While no formal move has been made, the report says insiders believe Bayern will return to the situation in the summer after securing defensive reinforcements. Leipzig, meanwhile, are described as unwilling to negotiate before June, setting up the prospect of a larger battle for the player later this year.
