Manchester United are reportedly ready to pursue a blockbuster move for Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, with reports suggesting the club could make an “unprecedented financial effort” to try to land the England international. A price tag of at least £120 million has been cited, while further reporting has linked Palmer with interest in a return to Manchester. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, however, insisted the 23-year-old is happy at Stamford Bridge.

Man United Weigh Record-Scale Move for Chelsea Star Cole Palmer

Manchester United are preparing to go all out for Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer as they sense a surprise opportunity to pursue the deal, according to reports. Fichajes reported United could submit a huge offer, with Palmer’s price likely to be at least £120 million. The 23-year-old’s future has become a topic of speculation, and the links with United have continued to build.

The report follows a separate story from The Sun claiming Palmer is tempted by the idea of returning to Manchester. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior played down that suggestion after speaking with the player, saying Palmer is content in London and remains central to the club’s long-term plans.

“I spoke with Cole and he seems and is very happy to be here,” Rosenior said at a news conference. “For sure Palmer is a huge part of our plans in the long-term. He’s feeling in a good place and joined training today.”

Despite Rosenior’s comments, the report noted United could keep pushing if there is even a small indication Palmer would consider leaving Stamford Bridge. Palmer has been described as a world-class performer during his time at Chelsea and a standout signing of the Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali era.

The report also suggested Palmer would appeal to a United side in need of a new star to build around. It added that Bruno Fernandes “is not getting any younger” and argued Palmer could be a long-term replacement because of a similar capacity to score and assist from midfield, while also noting Chelsea would be unlikely to sell to a rival.
