The 23-year-old defender has established himself as a regular in the Oldham squad since his arrival three months ago, featuring in six matches including the full 90 minutes during the club’s goalless draw with Grimsby Town on 26 December. His performances during this period convinced the coaching staff to offer him an extended deal through to the summer.

Simeu expressed his satisfaction with the contract extension, highlighting the positive reception he has received since joining the Greater Manchester club. “From the moment I came in, I felt welcomed by the staff, the players and the supporters,” he told the club website following the announcement of his new deal.

The defender indicated his ambition to make a greater impact during the remainder of the season, suggesting he has more to offer the team. “I feel like I’ve got a lot more to show and I want to prove what I can bring to this team,” Simeu added, emphasising his determination to contribute to Oldham’s League Two campaign over the coming months.
