Brazilian club Palmeiras are reportedly preparing a transfer offer for Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro, with the 33-year-old veteran potentially being offered a two-year deal to return to his homeland amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Palmeiras Set to Make Transfer Move for Manchester United Midfielder Casemiro

According to Fichajes, citing journalist Diego Firmino, Palmeiras are considering making an approach for Casemiro as questions continue to surround the Brazil international’s role at Manchester United. The report suggests the Brazilian club could offer the former Real Madrid star a two-year contract, though it remains unclear whether he will definitely return to the Brazilian league at this stage of his career.

Casemiro may face competition from other potential suitors, with Saudi Pro League clubs also viewed as realistic destinations for the experienced midfielder. Such moves could offer significantly higher wages than a return to Brazil, potentially making them more attractive financial propositions for the 33-year-old as he considers his next career move.

The defensive midfielder’s form has declined significantly since his impressive start at Old Trafford following his 2022 arrival from Real Madrid. While Casemiro helped Manchester United win the Carabao Cup final in his debut season, his performances have deteriorated considerably, with the player clearly no longer operating at his previous elite level that made him a key figure in Real Madrid’s recent success.

Manchester United are expected to make changes in their midfield department, with Casemiro potentially not the only departure as Manuel Ugarte has also struggled during his time in Manchester. The Red Devils have been strongly linked with Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson by the Daily Mail and other outlets, with the young midfielder viewed as a potential replacement option for their aging squad.
