Rangers have been instructed by an SPFL tribunal to pay Dundee a fee of around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron after the clubs failed to agree compensation following his move to Ibrox. The 23-year-old agreed a pre-contract last February and joined Rangers in the summer. Rangers have 14 days from Tuesday’s decision to pay.

SPFL tribunal orders Rangers to pay Dundee about £400,000 for Cameron

Rangers have been told by an SPFL tribunal to pay Dundee a fee of around £400,000 for midfielder Lyall Cameron. The decision followed a dispute between the clubs over compensation after the player’s move, with the case referred to the SPFL when no agreement was reached.

Cameron, a Dens Park academy graduate, agreed a pre-contract with Rangers last February before completing his switch to Ibrox in the summer. The midfielder is 23 and the compensation package remained unresolved between the clubs until the tribunal ruling.

Cameron made 10 appearances for Rangers before joining Aberdeen on loan last week for the remainder of the season. Rangers have 14 days from Tuesday’s decision to pay the fee set by the tribunal.

In a statement, Dundee confirmed the tribunal proceedings have concluded but said the club was “unable to comment further due to tribunal’s confidentiality clause.” The compensation amount was described as being around £400,000.
