Tottenham are exploring a possible summer move for Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi as Thomas Frank looks to reshape his defensive unit. Tottenham Monitor Senesi as Bournemouth Braced for Free-Agency Exit
Tottenham are actively assessing Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi ahead of a potential summer move, with manager Thomas Frank looking to strengthen his defensive options. Senesi is entering the final months of his contract at the Vitality Stadium and has emerged as a leading free-agent option in the Premier League, according to the report.
Bournemouth are preparing for Senesi to leave after he is understood to have turned down multiple offers to extend his deal. Tottenham are positioning themselves to capitalise, with respected journalist Ben Jacobs confirming on The Last Word On Spurs that the north London club are keeping close tabs on the defender’s situation.
Spurs are not the only club tracking Senesi. Jacobs said Juventus are monitoring him, while Chelsea could also turn their attention to the Bournemouth defender if their pursuit of Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet does not go through. “From Tottenham’s perspective, there are a few defenders that they quite like. One is Marcos Senesi,” Jacobs said.
Tottenham’s interest comes amid uncertainty in their centre-back group. The report says Radu Dragusin is reportedly “desperate” to leave this January after struggling for minutes behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, with AS Roma described as leading the chase. Van de Ven, meanwhile, has attracted interest from Premier League champions Liverpool, with the report noting Senesi could suit the left-sided role if changes follow.
