Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City attacker Oscar Bobb, with the 22-year-old Norwegian international facing an uncertain future at the Etihad Stadium after struggling for opportunities and falling further down the pecking order following recent signings.
Tottenham Eye Move for Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb as Norwegian Faces Exit
The Norwegian international has struggled for opportunities at Manchester City and needs to move on in order to play more often. Manchester City have recently signed Savinho, and naturally, Bobb is going to fall further down the pecking order at the Premier League club.
According to Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider, Bobb is now facing an uncertain future at Manchester City following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo, which has pushed him even further down in Pep Guardiola’s plans. O’Rourke suggested there is a strong possibility Bobb could leave, though the player is currently injured, which might affect his possible departure in the January transfer window.
O’Rourke described Bobb as a “top player” who probably needs to be playing regularly after a couple of injuries and seasons which have delayed his development. The expert noted that Bobb will be going with Norway to the World Cup in the summer, making him keen to secure regular first team football in the second half of the season.
The report claims that Tottenham are lining up a move to secure Bobb’s services as they seek more quality and depth on the flanks. The 22-year-old could represent a useful long-term acquisition for Spurs, particularly if they can sign him for a reasonable amount of money during the current transfer window.
