West Ham and Flamengo agree €41.23m Paquetá deal as payment plan debated

West Ham United have reached an agreement with Flamengo for the transfer of midfielder Lucas Paquetá in a deal worth €41.23 million, according to ESPN Brasil. While the fee itself has been settled, the clubs are still negotiating how the money will be paid, with the payment schedule described as the final sticking point before the move can be finalised.

West Ham are pushing to have the full €41.23m paid within the next 12 months as the club looks to secure the funds quickly. Flamengo, however, are hoping to agree a staggered payment plan, a structure often used in South American transfers for high-value deals. The two clubs are continuing talks as they work through the remaining details.

Paquetá’s exit, once completed, would bring an end to a spell at West Ham that began in 2022 when he arrived for a club-record fee. The Brazil international established himself as a key figure at the London Stadium and earned praise for his creativity, flair and improved work rate under both David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui, the report said.

The midfielder also played a crucial role in West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph and became a fan favourite, according to the report. Flamengo have been aggressive in their pursuit and Paquetá has already given the green light to the move, with the player eager to return to his former club as negotiations focus on finalising the contract details and payment structure.
