Liverpool have confirmed they will not pursue a new right-back signing despite Conor Bradley being ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury sustained during the goalless Premier League draw against Arsenal, with manager Arne Slot prepared to use existing squad options.

Liverpool Rule Out Right-Back Signing After Conor Bradley Season-Ending Knee Injury

The Northern Ireland international becomes the third Liverpool player to suffer a serious injury this season, joining Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni on the treatment table. Bradley sustained the knee problem during the stalemate with Arsenal and subsequent medical assessment revealed the extent of damage would require surgery and months of rehabilitation.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool do not intend to enter the transfer market for defensive reinforcements despite losing Bradley for the campaign. The club believes they have sufficient cover with Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones all capable of deputising in the right-back position when required.

Bradley had been viewed as a potential long-term successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold but has struggled for consistency this season, partly due to recurring fitness issues that have limited his appearances. His absence provides Jeremie Frimpong with the opportunity to establish himself as Liverpool’s first-choice right-back, having previously operated as a right winger without securing regular starts in that position.

The Dutchman has experienced his own fitness problems but will now aim to maintain his condition for the remainder of the campaign and become a regular starter. With a title defence appearing increasingly unlikely, Slot’s side are focusing on securing a top-four finish while making progress in both the Champions League and FA Cup competitions.
