Cristiano Ronaldo scored three times in 15 second-half minutes as Al-Nassr beat Al-Kholood 5-3 in the Saudi Pro League. The hat-trick, helped by four assists from Joao Felix, lifted the Portugal striker to 985 career goals and keeps him moving towards the 1,000 milestone. According to Bbc.com.
Ronaldo’s second-half burst at Al-Nassr moves him to 985 career goals
The game was level at 2-2, with Angelo Gabriel and Sadio Mane having scored for Al-Nassr, when Ronaldo took control. He struck three times in 15 second-half minutes to turn a tight contest into a 5-3 win over Al-Kholood in the Saudi Pro League, taking his tally to 985 career goals.
Joao Felix, Ronaldo’s Portugal team-mate, was the main supplier in that second-half surge, setting up four goals in the match. Two of those assists led to Ronaldo’s strikes, which shows how much Al-Nassr’s response relied on the understanding between the two forwards in a game that had been evenly balanced.
It was the 67th hat-trick of the 41-year-old’s career. Seven have come for Al-Nassr, alongside 44 for Real Madrid, 10 for Portugal and three each at Manchester United and Juventus. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has won league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia and is the all-time top goalscorer in men’s international football.
Al-Nassr are defending champions of the Saudi Pro League and sit second in the table, with a game in hand on leaders Al-Qadsiah. Ronaldo has spent almost four years at the club and has one year remaining on his contract. In August he hinted at retirement, saying it was “probably” his last year playing.
