Atletico Madrid plot summer swoop for Atalanta’s €50m-rated Ederson

The Spanish club’s successful January business with Atalanta has opened the door for further negotiations, with Ederson emerging as a primary target. Relations between the two clubs are said to be at an all-time high following the smooth completion of deals involving Giacomo Raspadori and Ademola Lookman.

Calciomercato.com reports that the 26-year-old Brazilian is valued somewhere in the region of €40m-€50m. His current contract with Atalanta runs until the summer of 2027, creating a potential urgency for any transfer negotiations in the coming windows.

The timing could prove crucial for Atalanta’s transfer strategy, as the summer 2026 window represents their last chance to cash in on Ederson for somewhere near his full value if he doesn’t extend his contract. Diego Simeone is said to be very interested in signing the midfielder for his squad.

Atletico would reportedly be prepared to double Ederson’s wages as part of their pursuit, offering around €4m per season compared to his current €2m annual salary. The potential move would continue the productive transfer relationship between the clubs established during January’s window.

The January deals saw Lookman move to Madrid for a reported fee of €35m plus bonuses on the final day of the window, while Raspadori returned to Serie A after his short-lived spell in the Spanish capital.
